REAL STONE SPLITFACE
Splitface stone has become very fashionable, adding wonderful deep textures and a certain spa/Scandinavian look to any bathroom.
It comes on a sheet more often, but it's far from easy to fit and has certain things to bare in mind:
It is not recommended for wet-areas great than minimal splashing.
You can't fit flat items against it such as shower valves or furniture (unless the furniture is cut into the stone.
They are not usually grouted.
To counter those issues that come with real stone splitface, manufacturers are racing to produce great porcelain tiles that look similar, but provide the practicality as well as the cost-saving.
WOOD PORCELAIN ALTERNATIVE
For an equally stunning rustic spa look, there's an enormous range of wood-look porcelain tiles available at a reasonable price which look great when used for feature walls.
